I wrote this poem because I am so concerned about the unnecessary mass slaughter of these beautiful animals

                                     MOUNTAIN HARE

                Why should we care about the Mountain Hare?

                       So easy to kill with very little skill

            For no good reason but the grouse shooting season

                  Which is just an excuse for excessive abuse

                 Of wildlife “management” left to the wealthy

                  To destroy a creature so fine and so healthy
