My new book is proving popular and getting some lovely comments, I do only have a limited number of copies and these are available through my website or in my Three Hares Gallery in Chagford. It is a great thing to do during the long summer holidays and it is enjoyed by children as well as adults, so please get in touch if you would like a copy.  I am really excited to announce that my new book is finally here. It is really beautiful and full of my paintings. It tells you a bit about the fascinating history of the Three Hares image and where it can be seen. The first half of the book has a map and takes you to visit the 17 churches in Devon and particularly on Dartmoor where the image can be found, there are descriptions of what can be seen in each church, but I have left the exact locations of the Three Hares for you to find as this is such fun! The second half of the book is full of my paintings and some poems that I have been inspired to do after discovering the Three Hares image. I am absolutely thrilled with my 2026 calendars which have just been delivered from the printers. It always takes me some time to chose the photographs that I put in it, I always take so many while I am out on my long walks on Dartmoor ! I hope you like the ones I have chosen. This is my lovely Calendar for 2025, it has 13 (including the cover) different views I have photographed on my many walks in and around Chagford. In this oil painting I was inspired by the shape and meaning of the Triquetra which is a triangle like that of the ears of the Three Hares symbol. I have painted this in oil leaving it unvarnished so that the triquetra which I have painted in gold catches the light and really shines out. I have written a poem which goes round the golden circle and this reads:-

    The power of three

        Is here to see

       No beginning

      No end, Eternity

     An ancient symbol

Of everlasting protection

  Life, death and rebirth

        Continuation

In the night sky you will see several constellations. Top left is Leo, top right is Taurus, bottom left Cassiopeia and bottom right The Plough.

This is a new oil painting of mine. I was inspired by seeing the photo's taken by a friend of mine who sometimes sees this unusual coloured silvery hare in the fields near her home. I thought it looked so beautiful and quite magical. Here I have painted it against the night sky with the constellations of Lepus (bottom left) Leo (top left) Taurus (top centre) The Little Bear (middle right) and The Plough (bottom right) It is framed in a fabulous silvery blue frame which it looks really stunning in. I am so lucky that my husband Barry does all the picture framing for me. 

Here is my latest painting of a hare, as you see, I love painting hare’s although there are not many on Dartmoor, but if you know where to look you may be lucky enough to see one.

We do however have plenty of the Three Hares images in and around Dartmoor, in fact, more than anywhere else in the world. There are quite a few to be found in Chagford where I live and have my Three Hares Gallery.

Hunting the Three Hares has become quite an obsession with many people coming here in search of this amazing image, and some come from other countries miles away!

I have been enjoying painting butterflies recently, after seeing some while out walking on Dartmoor. This painting is of the tiny Holly Blue butterflies together with a Gatekeeper, plus a couple of Bumblebees, all enjoying the heather flowers which are out at present making the moorland look like a carpet of purple which is really beautiful.
